About the Art

Recycled art from the remnants of his palettes, The “Carini Alchemy Cubes” are a hybridization of Carini’s “Beautiful Accidents” (based on the Japanese aesthetics of wabi, sabi, and shibui) and the hard-edge geometric elements from his series “The Up-Side of Down.” Fun, design friendly, and great in sets, these paradoxical cubes playfully blend the boundaries of organic and inorganic as they balance the beauty of the number 3 and let nothing go to waste. Carini’s cubes really take thinking outside the box as he puts the beauty back in them.

About the Artist

Michael Carini received his artistic training in Los Angeles, studying at Loyola Marymount University. Graduating at the top of his class in 2006 with honors including the Scholar of Distinction Award in Painting, Michael returned to his hometown in San Diego, where he currently maintains his studio. His creative visions will play with your senses and illuminate the human condition as he delves into the uncensored depths of his mind and invites you to catch a glimpse of the other side.
